Margaret Hoban, LMHC
You have just taken a brave first step towards being open to addressing your dissatisfactions, fears, anxieties, sadness, and insecurities. The decision to seek therapy is never an easy one, but by and large, most are grateful for the therapeutic experience and the enlightenment it can bring. In a safe, non-judgmental environment, I will help you muster resiliency during difficult times, think creatively when you feel stuck, and validate the experiences you have had throughout your life. And, together, we will work towards the goals that you set forth and are hoping to achieve in your therapy experience.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 5 years of clinical experience working with individuals mostly18+. I am a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor, which means I can assist individuals in reducing alcohol/substance use or I can support family members/significant others of individuals struggling with addiction. I also have an Advanced Certificate in Rational Emotive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which means I have had extensive training in this form of therapy.
My prior experience and background means I am best able to help individuals with anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, cope with chronic illness/pain, develop coping skills, navigate family conflict, work through grief and loss/life transitions, parenting, relationship issues, stress, trauma and PTSD, women’s issues, LGBTQIA+, veterans, elderly.
